IKEA will start to take the furniture to rent

Instead of throwing away pieces of furniture, we give them a little update and will be able to sell, thereby extending the life of products”,

— said the Executive Director of the group Inter IKEA thorbjørn Lef. The beginning of the trial period of the lease is scheduled for February 2019. The first country where customers will be able to buy furniture on time, will become Switzerland. According to the newspaper, special attention will be paid to the retailer of office furniture, as to take chairs and tables for offices to rent, many companies cheaper than buying them. According to Lef, the temporary use will be sold and the kitchen. IKEA engineers even added a feature simply changing the doors on the kitchen cabinets, in which the customers will not have to rebuild the entire set. Lef believes that the “subscription model” will give the buyers a chance to experiment with cooking sets. “With such a circular business model it becomes more interesting not only to sell but also to watch what happens to the furniture when clients take care of it,” said a company representative. Another step to change business model was the creation of IKEA outlets within major cities.
