The portfolio of the architectural duo Aleksa Mihaelis and Tim Boyd - more than a dozen luxury hotels around the world, from Oxfordshire to Botswana and from New York to Mozambique. According to the architects, they always start a project with a study of the context: the architecture, the history of the place, the traditions - everything is important.Especially if we are talking about an object with a rich history, as in the case of the hotel Kimpton De Witt. The new hotel is located in a building that includes a historic part of XVI-XVII centuries: in the course of the previous two reconstructions of ancient houses were "hidden" in a modern volume. One of these architects have turned in the hotel bar, while retaining the original boiserie dark wood and putting on display ancient ceiling beams, the other turned into luxury suites. The exclusivity it makes the fact that in an ancient house spent his childhood Dutch playwright and poet Peter Kornelison Hooft (1581-1647), a key figure in European literature of the Renaissance.
