My precious: the world’s first ring made entirely of diamond

The decoration is made of solid stone

Head of Apple’s design Jonathan Ive and industrial designer Marc Newson has created the world’s first ring from solid precious stone. The decoration was made to order American manufacturer of artificial diamonds Diamond Foundry. The team grew the diamond until he reached the necessary size to create a ring. It is noted that the most difficult work on the ring was the process of cutting out the desired shape.

Jewelry is already estimated at 250 thousand dollars. The ring will be auctioned December 5 as part of a special charity event RED with the support of the auction Sothbey’s. The money raised from the sale of the lot will go to non-profit organizations.
